Proof of God

Sin

I grew up in Los Angeles before there was smog control. On many days my eyes burned and I couldn't take more than half a breath. But I was used to it. I just thought that's how life is, and I went out to play and cough with my friends. One day a strong 'Santa Ana' wind came up and blew away all the smog out over the ocean. Then for the first time I saw mountains about 10 miles away... so beautiful. I asked my mom when those mountains got there. She said, "Son, they've always been there, you just couldn't see them because of the smog." Soon I noticed that my eyes didn't burn, and I could take deep breaths and run and run... so clean.  Sin is like smog – life is better without it.

As shown in the "Science and Logic" and "Miracles" sections, it took me a while to realize that God is necessarily real and far bigger and better than we are. Once I saw that, I also saw the ugliness of my own sin, and that I was lost. So I turned to Him; and his Spirit, peace, love, forgiveness, and holiness overwhelmed me – to the point that I wondered why I ever liked sin in the first place. Was I born that way, did my friends or culture talk me into it? I don't know, but compared to the blessings of God sin is not a high – it is a low. I don't want to live in that pollution anymore. I want to walk with Jesus.

The wages if sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus... For God so loved the world (us) that

He gave His only Son (to die that death) that whosoever believes in Him will not perish (or go to hell) but have eternal life... This is eternal life, that you may know Him, the only true God, and Jesus Christ who He has sent.

(Romans 6:23, John 3:16-21, 17:3)

If you want Him, pray something like this right now, "Risen Jesus, thank you for dying in my place so I can be forgiven and freed from my sins. I turn from them to you. Please be my Savior and Lord, give me the gift of the Holy Spirit and help me to live a holy life with you. In your name I pray. Amen."  If you prayed that prayer and you meant it, read the Bible (the Gospel of John is a good place to start), obey what you read, get baptized, walk with God, and fellowship with other believers.
